Richard Hames Corporate Philosopher and Futurist Richard David Hames is Australia's preeminent corporate philosopher and is widely considered to be one of the world's most influential intellectuals. Educated in Europe, Richard has been honoured with numerous
awards including a French Government Scholarship, a Leverhulme European Fellowship, the Mondadori Professorial Fellowship and the inaugural Lord Attlee
Fellowship. In 1994 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
He is currently President of The Hames Group; Visiting Fellow to International Synergy; Director of Thoughtpost Edge; Chairman of the Australian Foresight Institute; and a member of the Advisory Board for Merryck & Co.
After early careers in medicine, computer science, academia and the arts, Richard was appointed Group Chief Executive to AMI, a position that was to earn him an enviable reputation as a charismatic and highly effective leader of change through the transformation of an almost bankrupt business into one of Europe's most successful and dynamic media corporations.
Today, Richard works with a broad range of industry and government clients throughout the world, building their strategic intelligence capability and assisting their systemic development. He is personal mentor to Presidents, Heads of State, Chief Executives and other high profile leaders and an adviser to governments in Australia, UK, China, Japan, US, Turkey, Brazil, South Africa and Singapore. Richard is author of the bestselling book, ‘The Management Myth: Exploring the Essence of Future Organisations.’ His second book, ‘Burying the 20th Century - New Paths to New Futures,’ was published in 1997.
Richard has just completed his third book, ‘The Five Global Literacies,’ which is due to be released in April 2007.
